The host talks with our guest Michael Nerheim, Lake County State's Attorney in Waukegan, Illinois. After taking office, he created a Case Review Board, who are volunteer legal professionals sworn in as Special Assistant State’s Attorneys separate from the State’s Attorney’s Office. As an independent review board, their duty is to focus on the issue of wrongful convictions and to review cases where a defendant’s innocence is suggested.
